    Default New noob

Turned 18 last week and definitely found me a new hobby of smoking cigars. I'm from Dodge City, KS born and raised. I enjoy everything we don't have here like snowboarding, wakeboarding, surfing, wheelin, stuff like that. I'm big into jetskis, rc stuff, little paintball, etc. Just wanted to put myself out there and from what I've seen so far on this board, I'm going to enjoy being a member!

With that being said, I really enjoy the Rocky Patel Vintage 1990s, what other cigars should I look at?

Welcome from AZ. The Vintage 90 was one of my first cigars as well, I would highly recommend the Newbie Sampler (http://www.cigarsmokers.com/threads/...mpler-Thread-V).

I found that last night, as soon as I get a way to store some sticks I'll be all over that!

    Welcome from western Oregon.

My first cigar I really enjoyed was Partagas Black Label, still near the top of my list.

All you need to get started is a cooler, some empty cigar boxes, and humidification.
    Latest smokes:
    Cigar: 5/19: Nub Connecticut 464T
    Pipe: 3/16: G.L. Pease~Charing Cross

All you need to store cigars are potato chip bags (the shiny ones).

    1. Buy cigars @ B&M.
    2. Leave cigars in their cellophane.
    3. Put in airtight/moisture-tight bag. (Most clear plastic bags/Ziplocks are not. Bags for chips usually are.)
    4. Purge out as much air as possible.
    5. Close bag tightly.
    6. Repeat 3 to 5.
    7. Store in a place out of light with a constant temp, preferably around 60 to 65 degrees.
    8. Only open bags to quickly remove a cigar to smoke, followed quickly by steps 4 to 6.

Also, don't buy RP Vintage 1990's. Buy RP Vintage 1990 'Seconds' ... about $50 for a bundle of 15. Same cigar, but no box and no band and some cosmetic flaw ... and less than half the price ...

Good to know! Just went to the local smoke shop and they stepped up their cigar selection. I smoked a cohiba toro and another that was in a plain glass tube. I really liked the strength of the toro!
