    Default Damn Border Crossing!!

I went to Moab Utah for some Off Roading and then to Las Vegas for a few days at The Strip. On the way across the border I got held up for almost 5 hours I had 2 speeding tickets, one in North Dakota, and one in Iowa from 5 years ago that I hadn't paid. They almost denied me entry because of those. Then he tells me my (unbanded) cigars are cuban and he is taking them. I said, you are taking my 10 cubans($300) and not letting me into the states?? I was planning on arguing about the cigars because I took the bands off, I was going to tell them they are dominican. But after he denies my entrance in I decided not to argue the point, and just try to figure out my tickets so I could get in. He must see alot of cubans and he obviously knows what they look like. And he is probably enjoying them as we speak Anyways, just wanted to share my bad luck with all of you

All in all it was a GREAT trip and well worth it in every way!! Woo hoo!

Damn thats rough. I'd heard that Americans with DUI and DWI convictions were being denied entry into Canada. Speeding tickets take it to a whole new level though, glad you got through the gauntlet but sorry they got your Cubans man.
There's only two kinds of cigars, the kind you like and the kind you don't.

He says one was unpaid. But damn man. Sorry about your sticks. That's downright cruel.

If you weren't on american soil and weren't going in, I would have argued that he couldn't take them. You should have also argued that they were bundled Perdomo overruns without bands. If you remove all packaging, they're unsalable as Cubans anyway. Next time, put some red dot Cohiba labels on them.

BAD luck? You think it's okay to get speeding tickets and NOT pay them?

Why didn't you just pay the tickets when you got them?

When he asked you if the cigars were Cuban did you admit right away that they were?
I said, you are taking my 10 cubans($300) and not letting me into the states??
If you did, that wasn't thinking on your feet very well.

Sorry but I have a hard time "feeling your pain"

He said that I'm already on USA soil so the cigars are gone no matter what...

I didn't pay the tickets because 5 years ago I couldnt afford it. Then next thing you know 5 years has passed. And I brought the original copys with me just incase I needed them. I was prepared to pay them, I always pay my debts

And like I said, I would of loved to argue with him about them being cubans or not but I didn't think it was the right thing to do at the time, espically when I know they ARE cubans. I'm not a good liar either I just wanted to get across, and the fact he ended up letting my girlfriend drive us across shows that honesty pays off with good karma in the end

Besides, I'm not looking for pity, I smoke that many cubans in a week. I just thought I would share my story.
