    Default Cigar Thief Busted

So, my buddy and I go to our local B&M to pick out a good stick for our weekly chess game and chat. A guy walks in at the same time as us, and I notice him go straight for the Padron upper shelf and he grabs a handful. Normally I wouldn't give two craps as I wanted to find a good stick for the game. But, there was something about this guy.?.

Anyway, we decide on a Padron ourselves, The Executive. As we're walking out of the humidor to pay, the same guy comes from around one of the aisles and follows us out to pay. I put my smoke down and tell Paulie the cost and he rings me up. Then, my buddy does the same. It's now that I notice that guy put one cigar on the counter and says $4.50.

I said "Hey, what happened to that handful of Padrons' I saw you pick up?"

He said "Oh, I put those back."

    "Back where, in your pocket?"

"No, I put them back on the shelf."

"Don't lie to me. Hey Paulie, this guy's rippin' you off."

Paulie gives him his change and the guy hurries out, gets into a $60+ K BMW and takes off. Nothing more I can do at this point, I tried.

Two hours later I get a call from "Red", the owner. "Thank you very much, because of you I looked at the tapes and he did grab a handful of the Padrons', a handful of Gurkhas' and a couple of Tabacs'. We'll get him when he comes back in, he's here quite a bit. Next time you're in here let me buy you a cigar. Thanks again!"

    Case solved.

What has happened to people's priorities these days! You cannot afford to smoke cigars, so you STEAL them?!? I also bet the guy can't afford to drive a Daewoo and he's running around in an Escalade.

    Pathetic, really...

    Good job Titan!!!!

I've been ripped off a few times and I despise thieves. Next to child molesters and rapists I consider them just about the lowest life form on this planet.

Your B&M's owner should have the dude charged. He deserves a nice conviction for theft.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions. Not all shoplifters are unable to afford what they're stealing.

I just got back from watching the video of the occurrence. That was fun. It ended up the guy stole over 20 cigars of varying brands. Padron 1964's, Gurkha Cellar Reserves', Tabacs', and a two other handfuls that have yet to be determined. He paid for a $3 Flor de Oliva.

I smoked my reward while there, a Padron 1964. Sweet justice.

Oh yeah, the guys were cracking up after watching the tape because they thought I was gonna lock the door and rip the guys head off.

Those of you who knew what my job was will understand this. Most of my customers lived in Mc Mansions and drove high end saloons yet I had to visit them on a regular basis. Nothing wrong with drivin a nice car but if you cant afford to pay for cigars then you ought to be driving a 1992 Taurus . Karma would dictate that the cigars he stole would give him throat cancer
