Thread: Humidor help!!

  1. Default Humidor help!!

    Hows it going everyone

So my neighbor gave me a pretty nice humidor last night. Its a 4 draw humidor, But one of the faces on the draws fell off, an he doesnt have it. So the drawer can still open. But it wont seal properly. I dont want to season it yet because i know all the humidity wont hold.
Whats a good way to temporarely fix this?
I dont want to hot glue anything unless itd help or be wise too.
Could i cut some wood and seal it an screw it in place?

Ill post some pics later today. So everyone can have a better understanding of what im teying to explain.

    Thanks

Unless this is some kind of incredibly rare antique, I'd go with spending the money you'd use to fix the humidor on a new humidor. And in the case of a rare antique - I'd take it to a conservator for "proper" repairs.

...or you could use duct tape - because duct tape fixes everything.

Or, go cheap and get a Coolidor!

Coleman cooler, comes in multiple sizes. It's ugly, but it does the job!

I also agree with ggiese, nice humidors are cheap. You can get a very decent 75-150 count humidor for $75-$150.

Even though you'd not mentioned it (because it's such a no-brainer), I'm also assuming you agree with my duct tape recommendation?

    Default Duct Tape

Duct tape solution required no repetition. I figured he already went that route, so the coolidor or new humidor was just a supplemental idea.
