    Default Cigar Draft

The Godfathers of Cigar Drafts ricmac25 & gatorsmg at Cigar Snobs came up with this idea and I want to run with it here.

This is a pass of sorts but done in a fantasy football draft style.

    # of participants
I'm thinking it should be between 5 and 10. Depend on interest.

    # of sticks to play
5? value sticks as this site has mostly NooB's and to be honest I only have 6 premiums and 3 are the same thing. Value stick is a $2 & up stick that is a hidden gem. NO FLAVORED STICKS or DOG ROCKETS! You don't have to send value sticks. If you wish to add better sticks feel free. Just remember this isn't quality for quality! This is a draft.

    How it will work
Everyone playing will submit 5? sticks to the draft. These sticks should be posted in the draft thread that will be started (if there is enough interest anyway). All sticks will be mailed to me along with $4.00 to help with my shipping costs back to each participant. Once all sticks have been received I will post a list of all cigars in the draft. We will make our selections just as in a fantasy football draft ie: if there are five players each player chooses any one stick per turn in this order 1,2,3,4,5,5,4,3,2,1 etc. I figure the only fair way to come up with a pick order is to have a non bias person here on Cigarsmokers put all of the participants names in a hat and draw them one at a time, the 1st drawn being first to pick in the draft and so on. After each selection is made it will be posted in the thread and the next person will make their selection. We will set some sort of time limit on this so it doesn't take forever to complete our draft. Once everyone has selected their 5? sticks and the draft is completed I will mail each player their selections.

So it's basically a pass but instead of taking your turn and then seeing something you would have liked to try pop up later when it's too late you get to see ALL of the possibilities up front. Of course the hard part is deciding which sticks are a "priority for you".

    Interested, Ideas, Comments...

I will be gone this week but there are a few FOG's here who know better than me and should be able to make a decision if a question comes up when I'm gone.

    Time Table
This is open to change if need be.
All sticks must be received by August 19.
The draft will start August 22 at 8:30am and run until finished. I hope by August 26. Once done I will mail them out hopefully that day in not then the next. If you can not be online during the picking time your pick will be moved to the end of the line. When we hit the moved drafts and you still aren't around to pick you get what's left. If more than one person picks left then I'll make the picks for you.

I'm in! I will be out of town August 19th-22nd, but I will return the evening of the 22nd so that shouldn't be a problem at all.

I will get a list posted tomorrow. Way to go DG!

    Default Still Time

Hey, is there still time to be in the draft, I thought only 4 people responded, and it sounds like you wanted 5 not including yourself, can I play?

    Best,

sweet, Ok just to clarify, we all get on the board at 7:30 Eastern standard on Monday and we pick until we are done? At most it seems this should take about 20 mins. if we are all here.

Also, I'm cool with Amanda's order.
