  1. Default Humidity - wrappers cracking and peeling off

Try to keep my humidors at 65 to 70 percent, but wrapper most often cracks and peels off while smoking. Is that too much or too little humidity?

Thanks badwhale. I have removed all sources of moisture, sponge and humdipaks, and will see what happens. Dewpoint around here is always around 60+ anyway. Frustrating. Appreciate your comment.

While you're at it, you might want to calibrate your hygrometer.

In my short experience I have found that removing a cigar from the humidor and placing it in a non humidified box for a day or two helps prevent that. I think it's called dry boxing. I use a nice cedar lined box that a shipment of sticks came in.

Yep, dry-boxing works....so does keeping your rh closer to 65%. I prefer the taste and smoking characteristics at the lower rh levels.
