Thread: New humidor question

    Default New humidor question

I just got a new humidor and after following all seasoning instructions the reading on the hygrometer has actually gone up. It's still in a safe range, but at the high end of the range. Any suggestions? Should I restart the seasoning process? Thanks.

Put cigars in it. It will go down.

It's also worth noting that if you are using the analog hygrometer that came with the humidor, it's likely not very accurate. Even if you did the salt test to calibrate it. Those analog units that come with most humi's are notorious POS's.

If you're not going to use beads, buy a decent digital hygrometer.

And of course follow Eville's advice and stock it up with cigars!
