    Yep, that's a biggun. I have a previous client who I'm pretty sure has one. He is a machinist...obviously. Probably couldn't get to his shop until next week, and I would hope someone will have won by then.

    Just spoke with my buddy about this, and one of his several lathes goes up to 48". He also told me about a shop that is less than a mile from my office that does aircraft tooling. One of theirs goes up to 10 FEET.

    The used to use vertical lathes to make the crankshafts for battleships. Those are impressive.
