Halloween started to wind down as usual at our house around 8:30 pm last night. There we are sitting in the living room watching pre-recorded episodes of the Walking Dead and I tell the wife:

"Looks like there are no more kids coming out to Trick or Treat tonight. I may go smoke a cigar up front in case there are any late-comers."

She says: "I was cleaning the study so I moved you humidor and cutting stuff out of the room. Let me go get it."

A few seconds pass and she walks back with my small 25 cnt humi. I was into the show so I was waiting until the commercials came on before I grabbed a stick. Finally, commercials come on and I sit up to grab the humi, open it up, and I only see this (not a pic of the actual cigar last night):

It is an A.Fuente King which I have never had. The wife starts laughing and says:

"You never go out trick or treating so I thought I'd treat you to a good cigar. Those people at the store said this was a good one and it was a little pricy so I thought it was good and got it for you."

First of all, I find it hilarious that she refers to the tobacconists as "those people" and the fact that she thinks that the quality of a good cigar is determined by its price, but I digress..... so I proceed to say:

"Thanks babe! but where the hell did you put the other cigars that I had in here!!!????" To which she responds:

"They're in your other humidor, this is your halloween treat." I then say:
"Thanks babe, I'll be outside." and I grab cutter, lighter and head out.

I sit on the bench on the front porch and I open the tube and instead of a cigar, I found this:

I run inside and see her with a huge smile on her face and crying at the same time. I still had to ask her if it was true since we have been trying to have a baby for 2 years now. This was a very emotional moment for the both of us since we have been going through fertility treatments and such with no success. After this last summer, we decided to take some time off of trying to get pregnant and just live day by day, so this little bundle comes as a gift from the man upstairs with no medical intervention at all.

We are still at the fragile stage of pregnancy in which anything can happen as we are 5.5 weeks into it. We are being very careful at this point, but I still can't believe it... I'm going to be a dad

This goes down in my book as the best Halloween ever.....
