Thread: New Guy with a Survey

  1. Default New Guy with a Survey

    Hi Folks.

I've been working in the biz for about two year and I'm doing a little market research for a project of my own. I've put up a survey on survey monkey and am asking for New Yorkers (greater metropolitan area) to take a moment to fill it out and forward it to a buddy or two. It's anonymous and about 15 questions. Thanks so much

    Your survey is fuggen stupid.

Here are two of your questions:

    11. Check the venues that you attend regularly.
    Professional Sports Events
    Seminars or Lectures
    Live Music Venues
    Restaurants
    Hotels, Resorts or Retreats
    Movie Theaters
    The Theater

    12. Check the activities you engage in regularly.
    Hunting and or Shooting
    Cycling
    Running
    Tennis
    Martial Arts
    Fishing
    Winter Sports
    Golf
    Athletic Competition (team or individual)

I don't do any of those, there is no "none of the above" and if I leave the question blank, I get a message that says "This question requires an answer" and if I don't answer all the questions, it won't let me complete the survey so all that happened was I wasted my time and you got nothing. Well, I'm not giving you an answer because none of your choices apply to me. Most of your other questions are equally stupid as well.

Until you figure out how to construct a meaningful and worthwhile survey, I'm not going to respond and I would encourage any other members here who stumbled across this idiot's "survey" to ignore it as well and not waste time on this nonsense.

Do you really think most people will give you honest answers?

    I don't.

If you think you can compete with the big guys like Cigar Inn, Club Macanudo, Nat Sherman, Davidoff, De La Concha, The Carnegie Club, Merchants, etc. after only being in "the biz" for "about two year(sic)" and doing "market research" with survey monkeys then son, you've got A LOT to learn.

If I promise to give you truthful answers to your revised survey, will you give me a free Davidoff Gran Cru #1 the next time I visit the Davidoff shop in Columbus Circle?

You really ought to fix that marriage question because it allows you to check all four choices. I'm a widower so do I check, "married" or "single"? And what's with the "with children" choice? That's not a "marital status."

Casinos are venues, ya know and okienoodling is an incredibly popular activity that hundreds of thousands of people engage in regularly, just ask Scotty.

Do you consider NASCAR a "professional sport?" On second thought, don't go there......

What "venue" would you put a convention center under? I go to conventions all the time. You don't have "bars" listed as a venue, millions of people go to bars and with your survey constructed the way it is, you're omitting a whole lot of the general population.

How about libraries and city and town halls? What about those, huh? Lots of people frequent those venues all the time.
