  1. Default I'm a beginner (Suggestions?)

I'm a beginner cigar smoker, I've never smoked anything else, I just like to enjoy a cigar to help me with stress.

Do you guys have any all time favorites to suggest?

Here's a link to a thread listing top 10 favorites of some of the members. If you look around, you'll find other discussions on favorites too.

If you're new to cigars I have two recommendations for you:
    1) Smoke on a full stomach, not an empty one
    2) Start with mild to medium strength cigars and work your way up to stronger ones.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.

You should start with a mild cigar. A couple of recommendations:

    1) Toscanello Caffe - creamy coffee and vanilla taste.
    2) Casa Torano - slightly sweet cedar and nutty taste.

Both are effortless to draw and relaxing to smoke.

  6. Default First Cigar

My first cigar was a JAVA---and because of this cigar, I've been hooked on cigar smoking. It's a great cigar for a beginner----It's filled with the flavor of coffee and chocolate
and it's not just a cheap flovored cigar----It is an exqusite delight!!! You simply have to try one. I believe they are hand rolled in the Dominican, but I may be mistaken---It could be in Nicaragua, but it is a quality smoke.

Definitely something light... If you go for one of the 'manly' varieties (this is what I did at first) you'll have a tough time realizing why so many people like cigars!

I only rarely have trouble getting my Anejo's at MSRP. I always have a stock of them!

ha very true. the anejo is a bit hard to find. but around november-december you should be able to find them pretty easly. but once they are gone they are gone for the year. i usually stock up on them so i can treat myself to one every couple of months atleast.

This is the Fuente company store in Ybor city. I met mr Fuente Sr while I was there, wedsite sucks as far as avalible stock but a phone call to them will most likely score you some good chit. Anejos are always available and they had a shitload of 858 ,nat, mad, claro,sg and rosado.Mag R out the wazoo,Heningway in all 3 wrappers ect ect ect . They even had a bunch of wild custom Opus for sale. When I left after chatting with Mr Fuente he thatnks me for buying and smoking his families cigars . He was a nice quiet humble man. I doubt rocky or a lot of other wannabe cigar kingpins would be so "common"
The older I get ,the better I was

I have met several of the Fuente's. They have always impressed me as passionate, genuine, sincere and grateful. Humble is a good word as well.

So a beginning smoker asks for a few cigar suggestions. What's suggested?

    Opus X

    Davidoff

    AF Anejo

    Montecristos

Are these the smokes you folks were buying for your first cigars? Nobody wasted time with any $5 smokes?

(Yes a few reasonably priced cigars were suggested)

What's your point? Or do you not have one, and just like to show your ass?

I was not aware there was a specified period of time between when you first start smoking a cigar, until you "work up" to smoking a Davidoff, Opus X, AF Anejo or Montecristo? Care to share?
