Thread: New guy on the block

Default New guy on the block

    Hello gents,

I'm h3rrington on every forum I frequent so if you know me from wus, dwc, or somewhere else let me know!

I'm 22 and just got out of my sh*thead phase last year. I dumped smoking cigarets, dumped drinking crappy alcohol, and grew an affinity for watches. I don't need a recommendation thread! I use a search function!

I'm a scotch guy. With my preference being Macallan 18. My most smoked stick right now is the Nub connecticut. I enjoy the mild flavors and even burn for a cheaper stick. Makes my habit semi easy on the wallet. Though I must admit I am a huge fan of Alec Bradley's black market.

I am still discovering my tastes and what I enjoy most. And I hope to share the journey with you fellas. My plan of attack is just see what some of you gents post and give em a try myself till I find what I love.

For now, here's my humble humidor.

Note: the cheapie sticks on the right (below the lfds) are for the friends that say they like cigars but don't even know what to do with it.

Thanks for letting me be a part of this community.

    Welcome from Alberta, Canada

So I'm just curious, I noticed in your pic an RCMP patch below the humidor, yet your location says Wyoming. Are you fellow Canuck and a member of the RCMP or do you collect RCMP stuff?

My good friend gave me that patch when he retired from the rcpm. I'm Airforce and stationed in Wyoming.

    Welcome!

I'm a Scotch fan too. I started with the Speysides and got into the Islays, I drink those for the most part. However there is a Cape Breton "scotch" (well they can't call it that because it's not made in Scotland) called Cape Breton Rare that I like as a before dinner drink. It's light on the palate and tastes great. I can't say that it's a good deal for the money though, it runs about $80.00 a bottle if you can find it which is tough. Comparable scotches are about half that.

As far as cigars, I'm pretty much stuck on Davidoffs, Ańejos and Opus X oh and Padron 1926. Lots of guys in my shop like those Black Markets that you mentioned, I haven't smoked one yet. I like some Rocky Patels and there are a couple of new "boutique" cigars I tried and liked at my shop recently but damned if I can remember what they were. I'll get back to you on those. Oh yeah, if I'm in the mood for a very strong cigar, those LFD double ligeros are what I'll reach for, I like the chisels.

    Again, welcome to CigarSmokers.

    Cool!

I was in Cody, WY a couple years back when we did a trip down to Yellowstone. We hit the museum and I spent hours looking at the guns (of course). What I saw of Wyoming was nice enough to convince me I'd like to go back and see more some time.

My father-in-law is retired USAF. If memory serves me, he retired as a SSG.

Stay away as long as you can! Blogo really screwed up before the put him in prison, and Gov. Quinn is following closely in his footsteps. Won't be long before we're paying more in taxes than my take from income...

I think GG should move to Bitterville to avoid the taxes.
