Welcome. I hope you have a nice, cozy indoors area to enjoy your smokes. It doesn't seem like Maine would provide an ideal environment this time of year for sitting outside for an hour or so.

Thanks for the reply. Our weather here has been pretty mild so far for Maine. But I enjoy my smoking Indoors or out. Have a great day.

    Hi from Alberta, Canada

I have an 18' travel trailer parked in my driveway that I use as my "man cave" during the winter when it's wayyyyyy to freaking cold to smoke outside......lol

It was rather nice this morning, only -7 C (that's about 18 F) For this time of year, that's pretty balmy. We've already hit -30 C (that's about -22 F)
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.

I smoked a cigar with the son-in-law yesterday - fired up the torpedo heater outdoors and it was nice... That was until the dadgummed heater ran out of fuel - then it was DAMNED cold.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Great place to read and learn. I bought a Mr Heater and this morning at 18 degrees it was rather nice in the shed.
May your ashes be long and your smoke be plentiful...

Welcome to the board. Lots of great people here. I enjoy my cigars in the garage for the winter. Move the patio heater in and set up a lounge corner. It was a balmy -16degC this morning😄

I've been getting my three adopted kids old enough to go to school, so I can have some free time once again! I've had various challenges in my life that have just kept me from getting on the computer much. I haven't really even smoked cigars as regular as I would have liked. I actually went a whole winter with nothing in my humidor. Funny enough, I kept it humidified any way; not perfectly, but really for no reason other than a habit, I guess.

I will have plenty of time and posts to tell everyone what a lame slacker I have been for being away for so long. I don't want to hijack this new gentleman's post. Thanks for the welcome back and I'm very glad to see all of you old-timers are still here keeping the asshats at bay.

ahub, I don't know anything about mild cigars, but I started smoking mild cigars as well. Gradually, I moved up in strength and a flavor to go way overboard and smoke only maduros for a bit. Now, I don't like maduros that much because of that. I like the fact that you can move around the flavor/strength chart of cigars at will, as your tastes and preferences change. You can give your crappy cigars that you don't like any more to your neighbors or visitors (those who smoke a couple of cigars a year and don't know anything about them at all.) (Yeah, they know less than me...that's what I mean.)

Wow, thanks for the update illilli, I look forward to hearing more.

However, you are correct - back to the matter at hand.

So ahub, where ya from in Maine? I've been up there a few times in my life, my cousin lives in Friendship, my mother-in-law used to have a place in New Harbor, a friend has a place in Owl's Head and one of my college buddies live in Freeport and I like to take in a show every now and then at the Hampton Beach Casino in Old Orchard Beach. A company I used to work for had a satellite office in Robinhood and another (since passed away family friend) live in Bar Harbor for many years.

    Oh, it'll get colder.......

We also have a 24' trailer parked in the backyard........lol..........we bought it new in 2008 and wifey won't let me use it for fishing trips, cigar smoking or my annual hunting trip. She bought me the 18' a couple years back as an x'mas present (yeah, my wife rocks!) to use for hunting because I used to use a camper and when I had it in the back of my truck I couldn't use my 4x4 to hunt because the camper was in the back! The wife says my cigars stink so I'm not allowed to smoke them in the house. Yet, she says she'd let me smoke a pipe in the house........go figure!

My wife has to keep working because she likes spending money more than I do! It works out though because then I can buy more cigars and more ammo and more guns and more.............

Wow, very nice part of Maine! You're right near North Windham and Windham. There's a North Windham and Windham in Connecticut too.
