Default Oliva Master Blends II ~ Robusto

Smoke: Oliva Master Blends II ~ Robusto
    Drink: Troegs Nugget Nectar
    Tunes: not recorded
    Date Smoked: 04/04/13

    Wrapper: Nicaraguan
    Binder: Nicaraguan
    Filler: Nicaraguan
    Draw: Light to Medium
    Burn: ran fine
    Misc: N/A

Pre-light: Colorado shade wrapper with little insignia burned in mark below the band. Quasi box press with nice construction and small to medium veins. Nice musky cedar / tobacco scent. Nice leathery, slightly spicy notes on cut prelight taste.

Light: Easy, using matches. Light to medium draw. Here we go!

1st 3rd: Nice spicy / creamy off the bat. Thick, leathery taste, but not overwhelming. Smaller draw seems to bring out a subtle sweet, like cashew, flavor. Some oil and woodsy notes now. I’m diggin’ this sofar.

Ash: Great structure and light gray in color. Holds on for 1 Ľ “ Has a Razor Sharp Burn

2nd 3rd: Really tasty is the simple review. Just nice woodsy notes, with a little oil. Some sweet cashew-like notes as described above. Medium body, and medium to full flavor.

3rd 3rd: Really pleasant and relaxing. Great flavors of woodsy, oil and sweet tobacco. Creamy. Great burn and draw. This beer is a good compliment. It will be a sad one to put down.

Overall impression: Alas, a limited production: 120,000 cigars in 2005 :(

I've had quite a few MB III's and I really like them a lot. I keep a decent sized stash of them on hand. Never had a I or II, but I'm sure I'd enjoy them as well. The little insignia looks really cool too, on the two. Their placement of the insignia there makes me think they're marketing geniuses.

    Thanks for the review!

    Thanks for doing the review.
I like the 3's but now I am going to have to hunt down a 2 to find out how different they taste.

Thanks for the reviews. They both look and sound very nice. I love the 3's.

I can't remember the last MBII's that I saw come up for sale. I saw some MBI's a month or two ago, churchill's for $300/box. I like the robusto's anyway so I wasn't too tempted.
