    Default The NCC Pass

    Status:
    Feb 17: Starting line-up posted
    Feb 11: Signup closes over the weekend (when pass order is posted).
    Feb 8: Posted

    Intro:
    People say NC's are just as good as CC's. I say:
    - some NC's are better than most CC's;
    - some CC's are better than almost all NC's;
    - some of those CC's may be in this pass; and
    - some of the CC's in this pass are worse than most NC's - but you won't know which is which until you smoke them, so why care?

    Pass starting line-up:
    Notes and table in Word and PDF formats.
    Table only attached as jpg.

    Puts/takes:
    There are five groups of cigars:
    a. Under $4;
    b. $4 to under $10;
    c. $10 to under $14;
    d. $14 to under $20; and
    e. around $50.
    Put/take one or none within each group. (Ergo, max. 5 takes.)
    Put/take NC's for CC's, CC's for CC's, CC's for NC's, or NC's for CC's; it doesn't matter
    Grouping is by the price that you actually paid, excluding local/state/provincial taxes.

    Smoke-now Review Contest:
    I simplified this. Smoke a cigar in the pass, or one of your puts. Post a review.

    Watch-now Video Contest:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLNW2s6XmlE . Please watch it, and then please post your answers to the question, "What has changed?"

    Pass shipping:
    Pass order is by unfair coin flip, and won't be bouncing back and forth between countries.
    Please c.c. PM me tracking numbers. All shipping must have tracking (DC).
    Every pass participant is solely responsible for replacement pass $ value until the next participant either:
    a) posts reception (so past DC); or
    b) signs confirmation at delivery.

    Pass participants
    - Pass participants should have more than one completed public buy/sell transaction posted on CS.
    - Priority will be given to people who were in the Budget Box Pass: Badwhale, Irish79, FactoredReality, Big Bill, Cajunblaze, Prophetic_joe, EGQ, Cigarsarge, Ashauler, mrtr33, and diesel grinch.

    badwhale
    TheGreekTitan
    kingbeefy
    mrtr33
    ggiese
    Irish79 (badwhale just to ship back to me)
    Sailor71

    Other:
    - Timely, constant, and regular communication of status as appropriate, please.

    Thanks for reading.

    Okay, good - it looks like there is some interest.

    Changes to lineup - I was in the store today. ;-).

    Substitute PL Montecarlo for the MC #4

    Add:
    -PL Panatella to the under $4
    -RG Perla to the under $10 (I have no idea what these are like)
    -Boli Short Boli REAP to the under $14 (forgot about it)
    -SLR DC '08 (if it fits in the box) and Boli Petit Beli EL 09 to the under $20.

    Just to clarify, the 8-9-8's were purchased on the island, and (now) the rest of the cigars were purchased from a B&M or at airport duty-frees.

    So far:
    TheGreekTitan
    kingbeefy
    badwhale
    mrtr33
    ggiese
    Irish79
    ashauler

    Um, hello Canada? :-)

    I will make up the package this weekend.

    BTW TGT, I just have a coolerdor and a small cooler for CC 's. Hardly a 'stash, ' LOL :-)

    I knew better than to join this on a weekend. Work has made my plans for the immediate future uncertain, so I must regretfully withdraw.

    I'm more of a quality over quantity kind of guy. I'd imagine I'd be pretty darn happy perusing your coolerdors.

    I've been away in the big city for a few days at the hospital (wifey's in getting surgery) and this is the first I saw of this pass and I could just shoot myself........

    I've spent a lot of money the last while on guns and gun related equipment and my cigar stash is reduced to such a state that I'm not able to participate.

    I did just email VancouverMark to let him know about it. He's been away for a while and the last I heard from him, he'd sold his home and was in the process of buying a new one and moving in so that's probably why we haven't heard from him in a bit.

    I'm now going to reread the list of cigars and go quietly cry in a corner.....

    My email to Mark was bounced back as undeliverable so I don't think he'll be getting involved either.

    First post updated; order and lineup finalized. Max takes has been raised to 5.

    I also dropped the Boli Short Boli as, although the tobacco and taste are okay, most of that box has been horrifically under-filled (super-loose draws). I also added some notes toexplain which cigars I thought were in a vacuum or sick period.

    Please PM me your addresses so I can pack the box up.

    The pass will go to America first; Sailor71 will go at the end - I can see him in-person. As consolation for going last, I can re-stock if desired.
    Will will get the pass first - and will also be sending it back to me - as that should help minimize potential border issues.

    CaptnBlues - hope your wife is fine and is recovering well.

    Your attention to detail is impeccable, and much appreciated. I briefly looked at the matrix you created, and think I will probably choose one from each of the first four categories, and try to take notes to compare. Thanks again Craig. Yep, pretty excited about this pass.

    The video I was referring to is on Youtube - well, it is for the moment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLNW2s6XmlE
    One hour documentary - very well researched (as far as I can tell). Sad but great to see the top farmers of the 90's - all passed away now.
