It's always been "interesting"
I lived in Vancouver in 90/91. I started out in Richmond and ended up out in Maple Ridge area a few months later. Maple Ridge area used to be all small acreages and "out in the country" so to speak. We slipped into Coquitlam to pick up a dog a couple years ago while returning from a trip south to visit my wife's family in the US. We parked our travel trailer in Hope overnight then crossed the river and headed in through Mission/Maple Ridge/Haney/Pitt Meadows and where it used to be acreages and open land it's now all concrete and urban sprawl. I didn't see anything that looked familiar. I couldn't get out of there fast enough!!!! (Did I mention I hate big cities............LOL)
My cousin's dad was also in realestate and that's why my cuz got into it. He's the oldest in their family. My oldest brother (he's a bit of a douche) lives in Vancouver too. He moved there in 91. Him and Martin (our cuz) bought a few 4plexes together back then. I can't even estimate what their revenue properties would be worth on today's market. I just know they've gone up a whole hell of a lot. It's ridiculous what you pay for property in Vancouver..........but then, it always was as far back as I can remember.
