Thread: Life sometimes throws you a curveball

Default Life sometimes throws you a curveball

Haven't been around much due to all kinds of events. Sold the house after being on the market for a year. Unable to find a new place, have been in a temporary housing situation for the last 6 months. Wife is 7 months pregnant with our second child. Wife slips on exposed aggregate and breaks left tibia at 6 months pregnant. Started new job shortly after moving out of old house in September. Car gets written off while parked on street and I was in the house sleeping. Now need to buy new house and car. No rush on car cause wife can't drive due to broken leg. Throw in the death of two grandparents within 6 weeks of one another to complete the last 6 months. Hope to be around more.

It's all relative. Everyone sounds like they're getting healthy, family sounds like it is growing, there is a job - although the lower mainland real estate market is, ah, interesting these days: http://www.vancouversun.com/business...803/story.html I think that I could only afford to live in New West ...

Sorry to hear of all the stuff that is going on. It's been hard for me too and lately I find myself cranking up this song in my car and really believing in the words. My guess is all your set backs were because the house your suppose to be in may not have been on the market yet. I will pray your baby and wife stay healthy and good karma comes your way. hugs

There's some things that I regret
Some words I wish had gone unsaid
Some starts that had some better endings

Been some bad times I've been through
    Damage I cannot undo
Some things, I wish I could do all all over again
But it don't really matter, life gets that much harder
It makes you that much stronger
Oh, some pages turned, some bridges burned
    But there were lessons learned
Every tear that had to fall from my eyes
Everyday I wonder how I get through the night
Every change, life has thrown me
I'm thankful, for every break in my heart, I'm grateful, for every time
Some pages turned, some bridges burned
    But there were lessons learned
There's mistakes that I have made
Some chances I just threw away
Some roads, I never should've taken
Been some signs I shouldn't see
    Hearts that I hurt needlessly
Some roads that I wish I could have one more chance to make
But it don't make no difference
The past can't be rewritten, you get the life you're given
Oh, some pages turned, some bridges burned
    But there were lessons learned
And every tear that had to fall from my eyes
Everyday I wonder how I get through the night
Every change, life has thrown me
I'm thankful, for every break in my heart, I'm grateful every time
Some pages turned, some bridges burned
    But there were lessons learned
And all the things that break you, all the things that make you strong
You can't change the past, 'cause it's gone
And nothing's gotta go, because they are gone
    Lessons learned
Every tear that had to fall from my eyes
From everyday I wonder how I get through the night
From every change, life has thrown me
I'm thankful, for every break in my heart, I'm grateful, for every time
Some pages turned, some bridges burned
    But there were lessons learned
Oh, some pages turned, some bridges burned
But there were lessons learned, lessons learned

    It's always been "interesting"

I lived in Vancouver in 90/91. I started out in Richmond and ended up out in Maple Ridge area a few months later. Maple Ridge area used to be all small acreages and "out in the country" so to speak. We slipped into Coquitlam to pick up a dog a couple years ago while returning from a trip south to visit my wife's family in the US. We parked our travel trailer in Hope overnight then crossed the river and headed in through Mission/Maple Ridge/Haney/Pitt Meadows and where it used to be acreages and open land it's now all concrete and urban sprawl. I didn't see anything that looked familiar. I couldn't get out of there fast enough!!!! (Did I mention I hate big cities............LOL)

My cousin's dad was also in realestate and that's why my cuz got into it. He's the oldest in their family. My oldest brother (he's a bit of a douche) lives in Vancouver too. He moved there in 91. Him and Martin (our cuz) bought a few 4plexes together back then. I can't even estimate what their revenue properties would be worth on today's market. I just know they've gone up a whole hell of a lot. It's ridiculous what you pay for property in Vancouver..........but then, it always was as far back as I can remember.
