Different shapes change the taste at all?

Hi, All
I used the search tool, (handy little bugger. Helps a lot) but couldn't find this info. If I missed it, I apologize, and stand with head bowed and face all red.
For the sake of clarity, Would a RP Edge toro taste the same as the Robusto, etc, or does the shape change the flavor, draw and other characteristics?
I ask because of the wild disparity in consumer ratings from shape to shape with the same cigar. Unfortunately, I know from decades of reading pipe tobacco reviews, consumer guides can be useless sometimes, as many posting these things do not have an educated palate. (At least I know that mine is barely fair to middling). So, what do the experts say about it?

Not an expert.

Some manufacturers adjust the blend depending on ring to keep the same taste.

Some manufacturers use the exact same blend everywhere, which means a different taste.

Some manufacturers adjust the blend depending on ring to give even more of a different taste.

Not much help, I know.

In general, however, the narrower the ring, the greater the impact the wrapper has on the taste. (This applies to the binder as well, but usually (usually) the binder is a light leaf chosen for good burning over taste contribution.) Also, some wrappers have more of a contribution to taste than others.

In addition, for Cuban cigars:
- below a certain ring, there is (supposedly) never any ligero (I can't remember the ring, 40 or 42).
- beyond a certain length, the cigar is blended milder, for example, a Double Corona is going to be blended to be a milder cigar than a Robusto of the same ring. (Again, I can't remember the dividing point - somewhere around 6 - 7").

An Opus X Perfecxion #5 (4 7/8 x 40) is a whole lot stronger than a Double Corona (7 5/8 x 49).

On the other hand a Davidoff Gran Cru #1 tastes the same to me as the #2, the #3, the #4 and the #5. They are all the same ring just different lengths.

Kitty? What kitty? Guess I should have shaved before I took that selfie. OK, you got me. I'm nowhere as good looking as that kitten. Actually, that picture is of a Persian kitten I wanted to buy after our 20 year old diabetic Maine Coon died, (150.00 a month in insulin and weekly vet visits for 8 years!) but the wife ain't havin' it. She's still in mourning and for the time being, we are catless.
I appreciate the honest answers I got here. To sum it up, IT DEPENDS, given the disparity between manufacturers and their vision of what their cigar should be is probably the short answer.
So, I have no choice but to smoke everything and decide for myself! No, no, don't thank me. It's a dirty, grueling job, but somebody has to do it, and I'm volunteering. However, if the weather doesn't break soon so that I can smoke on the deck, I may not live to complete my task. Although I scurry to the recesses of the basement to smoke, I'm starting to get those squinty eyes (you know the look I mean) from the wife, and I'm very careful about turning my back on her.

Great advice. I always get a corona size if I want a powerful smoke to be a kicker. Joya de Nicaragua Antano machitos (petite corona)are wicked strong but the churchills are not
