    Default How 'bout them ROYALS?

    Currently in 1st place.

I can't remember them being in first place in August since sometime in the 1980s.

They were my first favorite baseball team as a kid in 1969, their first year as an expansion team. My brother and I got free windbreaker jackets from Domino sugar or something like that, his jacket was a Seattle Pilots and mine was a Royals jacket. That was also the first year for the Seattle Pilots who later became the Milwaukee Brewers.

Anyway, good to see the Royals in contention for the first time since I can't even remember when.

    Jamie, you still out there?

I remember when i actually watched baseball. It was the 80's. baseball is not the same game now as it was then. I was never a royals fan but in the 80's they were good. Remember this guy? I think in the movie major league the yankee pitcher was modeled after the mad hungarian. Every time i think of the royals I think of him. Good luck to your team

I grew up on Royals Radio! Before the baseball strike -- when I still cared about baseball -- I would go see the Royals every game that they played the Orioles. I usually got great seats because there aren't a lot of Royals fans around Baltimore. I used to get a lot of grief for wearing my Royals had and shirt, but I didn't care.

It's just a tad painful this mornin' for this Royals fan as well!!
800 mg ibuprofen, a cold V8....and the high-lights on ESPN this morning helped a little.
Ok, I lie, it helped a lot......now, if the headache goes away by lunch time.......

Regardless of how well or poorly the Royals may play, they always seem to have the White Sox's number...

Forgive me, Mrs. Crabtree, for I have probably sinned... I'm not sure if it should be White Sox, White Soxs, White Sox' or White Sox's.

They haven't lost a post season game yet this year, have they?

Could possibly be an I-70 World Series, eh?

I'm pretty happy with the way things are shaping up, I like the Orioles, the Cardinals and the Royals. At least one of them will be in the World Series.

Both games taken in Baltimore!! Woohoo, looking good so far as we continue to keep plugging away every at bat like we've done all season!
I sure hope it's an I-70 series, thought the Giants are looking tough.

It's pretty shitty weather here though, so the game tonight will certainly be affected, if we're able to play at all.

The Orioles catch a break, no way they can lose tonight!

    Why, you ask?

    (Game postponed due to rain.)

Yay! Up 3-1 .....hopefully we can close it out this afternoon and get a little rest and prepare for home field advantage in the World Series.
Holy shit, it's been awhile since I could even think about the Royals in the World Series.
I was 20 years old when we won it! And, yes, that was quite some time ago.

Still undefeated in the post season.

Who wants to bet that they'll win the World Series 4-0?

(They call that a "sucker bet", LMAO)

I thought it was pretty cool to see old Pine Tar George Brett celebrating in the box. I would definitely like to see The Royals take it this year.
