Appearance: This cigar looks, well, black. Rugged. I can picture Clint Eastwood horseback with this one. Looks well constructed.
Prelight sniff: pungent, earthy
1st third: Tight draw. Pungent earthy flavor.
2nd third: Getting smoother. Same basic flavor as 1st third. Rich. Tangy. Ever so faint sweetness.
3rd third: I pick up "some"spice.
There are flavors that I can't pick up on. Third verse, same as the second add a little black pepper.
Overall:
This smoke may not suit some folks because of the bitter and pungent richness that quickly becomes a film in your mouth.
When all is said and done, I will have to try a few more to decide if I would stock these. It's different. I find it a one dimensional cigar. It's described as complex elsewhere. Go figure.
Edit:
There is a "metallic" flavor that permeates through the entire smoke that I personally do not care for. It took me a while to pin this metallic flavor down. I will try a few more and re-visit this smoke.
Toro Toro!
