Working on this one now.
Took it apart 3-4 years ago to address some oil leaks, and just getting back to it now. There's other stuff too I have to fix.
Rocker boxes need new seals, and reinstalled
Push rod tube seals need replaced.
New back brake switch done
Back brake lens install done
Front brake master cylinder needs rebuilt done
Inner primary screw hole needed helicoil, but that's done, and primary back on, needs adjustment
Center stand spring install (no idea how this came off) done
Re-assemble exhaust, carbs, tank etc.
New Battery done
Gas / Start /Test Ride
Should be ready soon.

TBSCigars - "On Holiday"Grammar - It's the difference between knowing your crap and knowing you're crap.
I need your opinion. Sometimes I get super pumped up and feel like I need a motorcycle. I'd like to get something I can "tinker on". BUT it kinda feels like a money trap. Similar to home brewing? Do you have any recommendations for a starter bike? What to look for. Something I can drive around the neighborhood and pretend I'm el Che?
I'd probably recommend and older Honda with low miles. Something in the 500cc or less realm. There's still stuff to tinker on, or tinker it to the point of a cafe racer style bike.
I wouldn't say mine have been "money pits" but like any vehicle, it depends. I probably have spent a collective $400 to get these two back on the road this year. I don't know what your budget is.
They are definitely have more frequent maintenance issues compared to a car (in general)

Mostly spent the day, in parts, working on the front brakes. Got that sorted out, but it was a bit of a motherf'er
In my brilliance, I took my old master cylinder WITHOUT removing a set screw that locks it in position. Hence, why it was so hard to remove...
Anyway, I damaged that part, AND broke the boss where the set screw goes in. Some back and forth with my other motorcycle parties, I resolved it by tapping a new hole for the set screw, and drilled a receiver in the new master cylinder and it's all good now.

got the boxes on.
I must have bumped a pushrod off a tappet. The exhaust box needs to come back off, and reset. I'll set the valve lash, and then throw the rest on.
