  1. Default Humidors

I'm currently shopping around for a new humidor. I've been using a 250ct humidor for a few years and getting the humidity to stabilize has been a daily project from when I first got it. I feel like part of the problem is the size of it. Thinking of getting 2 smaller ones, like around 150ct. Any recommendations on what I should get would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

You need a couple bags of heartfelt humidity beads in there. Don't look at it too much, just when you're grabbing a smoke.
Don't worry about them too much, they're not that fragile. You'll know if they're smoking right, and then you're done.

Welcome to the board too. It's been pretty quiet around here, and other boards too.

Thanks for the feedback Will. I have about 150-200 cigars in the box and enough beads to humidify about 500-750 cigars. This has been an ongoing issue for me for over 2 years. The other humidors I've owned and helped fellow new smokers season and prepare never once had this issue. This box is Brazilian rosewood so while I don't want to condemn it in any way, this experience just tells me to stay clear of it for the future.

Gotcha. Is maybe your hygrometer wrong? I know these are simple questions. If it's not a simple answer, maybe the humidor itself is faulty. I don't know, without knowing more about the details / situation.

I've tested the hygrometers, I have 2 inside. Both are accurate. I believe it's just the box and it's time to move on from it

I was curious if anyone has any experience purchasing custom made boxes. I had a few links come up on a Google search

Mine is a custom. Cherry cab, lined with cedar. Never had any problems with it.

There is the coolerdor route too....; )

Really now... Care to share where you purchased it from? I was looking at the thermogenic cooled units. I gotta call one tomorrow and find out their repair process when a part fails

I had a local carpenter make it for me.

    Is your humidor sealing properly?

I know this can be a common issue and if it's not, would certainly make it harder to keep your RH stable.

    Welcome to the board btw.
