Thread: Cigar Band Etiquette

    Default Cigar Band Etiquette

I've been smoking cigars on and off for a number of years, but have become serious about them fairly recently. I was excited to discover this forum because I'm sure there is a lot I can learn from the member "pros". So here is my first question, dumb as it may sound. Should one leave the cigar band on for the entire smoke or should it be removed at any point? I know removing a band at the beginning of a smoke can damage the wrapper, but after a while, the heat and moisture loosen it. Do most smokers just leave it be? Thanks in advance for your input.

    Default Cigar Band

    Hey Mike,

Just as you have stated, I leave my band on, so that the glue can heat up and remove easily. Another benefit is when I am out in a cigar club, I can see what the other person is smoking. In Cigar Afficiano Magazine, I think I read sometime ago, that proper ettiquette is to remove it though. I leave mine on :)
