Smile Cigar smoking newbie says hello...

Hello ladies and gentlemen! I was recently introduced to the past time of cigar smoking. I started with some cigarillos and on a recent trip to the Dominican Republic I picked up a few cigars: Romeo Y Julieta Clemenceaus, Montecristo Grande 50 x 7, Montecristo in a glass tube. I'm a total newbie, and only purchased those on recommendation from the sales person. How did I do for my frist purchase? I'm looking forward to becoming part of this great community!

Welcome to the board Jeb. I'm a fairly new cigar smoker myself, but I have tried a couple Romeo y Julietas, although I'm not sure if they were Clemenceauses. I definitely enjoyed them and give you the on your choice. Haven't tried the Montecristo Grandes though.

I'm going the other direction than you. I started with larger cigars and am looking to pick up some cigarillos for a quick smoke between classes when I return to college next month.

Again, welcome to the board and I look forward to chatting with you more in the weeks and months ahead.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

I plan on staying a while and learning and sharing as much as I can.

mithril, the trip was short but very good. I plan on heading back there sometime in September.

I haven't smoke the Clemenceaus yet, but as soon as I do, I will let you know how it is. I enjoyed the Montecristo Grande...had a very nice flavor and flow.

    I have had a few R&J's and Monte's
I like the Monte's best so far.
Like the others have said, what you like is up to you.
Even though I think the Monte's are better,
many say they are over rated, they probably are.
I take advice from the older dudes here, they aint steered me wrong yet

Smoke what YOU like. Use reviews and other's opinions only as a loose guide.

The RyJ Clemenceaus, in my opinion, are one of the best cigars you can buy for the money.

Explore! Have fun and welcome to the board!
