Default getting a cooler but how many beads?

i'm just about ready to buy a cooler to make a coolidor. my question is, how many lbs of beads do i need for a 120 quart cooler? i'm getting the 120 igloo cooler from wally world. i'm just trying to gauge how much i need to spend to make it. the cooler is going to set me back 40 bucks and who know for the beads. thanks.

120 quart is just over 4 cubic feet.

Most people I know get away with about a 1/2 pound of beads in a coolerdor. A pound may be a bit much...

ok, i'll try the 1/2 lb and then get another 1/2 lb if it doesn't work.

I have a 120 q. coolerdor and I use one pound of beads distributed in 1/2 pound sacks using a pair of white knee high pantyhose balls. Rock solid.

    Default The Pound

    I would get the pound.
That's a big cooler, and as one of the previous posts said, the recommendation is for nearly a pound.
You can't use too many beads; if there are more than recommended, you'll just need to wet or dry them LESS frequently.

a buddy of mine made an excel document for finding how many ounces of beads for what volume of container...

for 120 qts it says 13.0 ounces of beads

i would probably just go with the full pound... better too many then not enough...
