Default 350$ in a week and counting!

Well, I have only been into this for a little over a week and I have been spending like crazy! Just got home from the Cigar shop(4th trip in a week!) and returned with a Xicar cutter (Xi-104 in gold), 5 Natural Juicy Lucys, 2 Linos, and 1 Drew Estate Java. time for a nice smoke now!

just an opinion...and welcome,btw...but let us know when you buy a good smoke...you're not gonna find many acid/drew fans here...(though the la vieja habanas aren't too bad for the money)....

Yeah I was holding my tongue here not wanting to say anything but... ditch the ACID's. I've never even let a Drew Estate stick touch my lips, much less take up residence in my humidor.

Did you mean Don Linos or Zino's?
I really enjoy the Zino Connoisseurs as a relatively inexpensive smoke (Just has "Zino" on the band, but the Z looks like an L). They stopped making these, so I bought a couple boxes.

I've smelled one, and trust me... that was quite enough. They stink like the art students that live all around me.

That said, I never bought a Britney Spears CD, but I know they s*ck.

I smoked two of the three parts of a Medusa. I think the third part had dried out by the time I got to it and it really blew chunks. Hats off to Drew Estates for excellent marketing and for finding a way to sell inferior tobacco. Flavored cigars are like flavored coffee. I prefer the taste of good coffee over the taste of poor coffee and flavored syrup.

And while I'm making an innocent newcomer feel welcome, I'll just add that on another BBS recently I saw someone bragging about acquiring nearly a thousand cigars in a single month. He said he had spent over two grand! That poor guy. I really feel sorry for him.

So anyway, hello OMEGA5. I hope we can point find a newbie sampler to point you at sometime soon.

    Default La Fontana

    Hello --

If you want mild with a sweet finish, but not something you'll get laughed at for smoking, try a La Fontana. They are a good starter cigar for new comers, and a good way to work your way up to bolder smokes.

Nat Shermans are sweet as well, but not as smooth as the La Fontana.

Good luck!!!! You want a REAL cigar, go for the Arturo Fuenta Double Grand Reserve. A great way to kill time. Plus they come with their own spill to light them with.

As a smoker for 3 years now, I never pass up the oppurtunity to pick up an amazing box of smokes, even if I have enough in my humi. You just cant pass up certain boxes you know one day will be in CA under the "Connoisseur's Corner". Such as:

    -Punch Punch (Cuban)
    -Rocky Patel 1990 Vintage Robusto
    -Montecristo #5 (cuban)
    -Arturo Fuente 858

The list goes on......just dont buy in one shot !!! You'll be on the streets with nothing but you humi !

Can't say that I am with you on the Monte # 5 (or the # 3 or the # 4). Very plain smokes in my opinion. Pity cause the # 2 is excellent.

I might catch some hell for this but one of the smokes that got me started was the Romeo y Julieta torpedo.....It seemed like I couldn't get enough of them, but I haven't had one for three years now.

You can't go wrong with a Fuente 858 though.....still a favorite of mine to this day. You could also try a Partagas Series S, or any of the mild Punchs (dons flamesuit) because they're usually consistent and not too pricey.

I agree, I have had a few different types of the Montecristo and I did not care for them either. It was too bad too, because I was really looking forward to them, but, they just didn't do it for me.
