Thread: Aging Cigars in Humi After Receiving Shipment

  1. Default Aging Cigars in Humi After Receiving Shipment

    Hey guys,

I've just started receiving some cigars in the mail that I've recently purchased. My shipments take anywhere from 5-7 days to receive.

My question is how long should I age these before I can start smoking them (so they're stabilized)? What are your general rules of thumb?

I tried one pretty quickly after it arrived and it wasn't a very pleasant experience v.s. picking it up in my smoke shop and smoking it :).

    Thanks!

I let mine sit for at least a week. If they are wet...Like from JR's, it might take a month or so.

Depends on the weather in the country, but in general 7 days in the humi is what I do. I guess if the weather has been mild with still a decent level of humidity, they should be ready to go. Otherwise, 7 days is my rule of thumb, but I like my smokes down at 65%.

I generally give mine a fortnight to settle, seems to work. That is not reallty aging though.
I thought it was a tampon joke!
