Default I have never been a fan....

    of dark beers.

    But to each his own.

Beer is like cigars. Many types. Many tastes. A liquid world to explore.

    Wow...that's heavy man.

Well I gave it a try lastnight, tastes just like any other beer too me, just a bit of a different after taste. I think I'm just going to stick with my whiskey

On the subject of Guinness, you should all try the Guniness Export that is brewed in Nigeria. That stuff is real good, just have to watch the sediment in the bottom of the bottle.
I thought it was a tampon joke!

they were saying some garbage about how beer directly from the bottle and ice cold has no taste. you are supposed to pour it in a beer glass get yourself a thick head and let it breathe and warm up. well F!@K that. i say pull that sucker ice cold from the fridge take the cap off that bottle then past the lips, over the gums.

but come to think of it through the nose might not be such a bad idea.

    Try Shiner Bock. It's dark.
There's a Newcastle Brown that's mighty fine too.
New Castle is my personal favorite. Brooklyn Brown Ale is a good one too.

The best Guiness I had in North America was at Erin's Pub in St. Johns, Newfoundland. Time your trip for Oct. 29 this year and you can also attend the George St. Mardi Grais. where a good time will be had by all.

Seriously, go return that if you have the receipt, the extra stout is not real guinness. You need to buy Guinness Draught in a bottle or can, NOT EXTRA STOUT.

See, what makes guinness guinness is the combination of head and beer, the frothy creamy taste that guinness is known for requires a good head. Extra stout means no head because there is no "widget" (technical term) in the can/bottle to release nitrous into the beer at the moment of opening, thus giving that straight from the keg taste. Guinness extra stout is the worst abomination, and I'm a HUGE Guinness fan.

Please, please return it quickly before you swear off guinness because of the bad experience you will have.
I tried some Guinness Stout lastnight, and yes, it did have a more of a creamy/smooth taste to it

    Hey!

I definitly agree with you about Erin's! Another great spot is the Duke of Duckworth. It is close by and has a Guinness to die for!

    Are you in Newfoundland often?
