Thread: Cigar Furniture.....

  1. Default Cigar Furniture.....

    Hey All;

    I do most of my Cigar Smoking in my office, which has worked out great so far. All that is in there is a leather office chair and a glass desk, so there is very little to "suck up" cigar smell. Now I am looking at putting a love seat in there for something to lounge on while reading. The only problem I have is I dont want some sort of fabric which will smell like cigars in about 2 weeks.

    While this isn't a real problem in the summer since the room has a balcony off it and I can either smoke outdoors or open the patio doors, winter is coming and I live in Atlantic Canada..... COLD>>>>>>> SO VERY COLD>>>>>>

    I looked at a "microfibre" couch a few days ago and it is suppose to be highly resistant to absorbing odors. I really like it since it is just like Suede, but at a MUCH better price. Does anyone know how a "microfibre" couch stands up to cigar smells? Or does anyone have any material that they find good at resisting smell? (I guess I am asking you to go around your homes and smell your furniture. PPPPLLLLLEEEEAAAASSSSEEEE? ) Thanks for your help everybody!

    I think that leather would be about the only thing that would not absorb the smell. Even though the microfibre is great at resisting odors, I think that the cigar odor will be too strong and soon enough you will begin to notice the odor. Go with the leather!!!

    Default Maybe???

    I smoke in the house, about 4-6 sticks a day. We have an air filter w/ionic mode (Wallyworld $40), and a window exhaust fan (Wallyworld $20). We also usually have nice scented candles burning. The house stays nice using these. We also hit the room and furniture two or three times a week with Freebreeze. The Frebreeze is amazing, hit the furniture, drapes and carpet and it neutralizes all odors.

    It's kind of like an ionizer and sucks cigar smoke particles out of the air http://www.csonka.com/beta/ConsProdlist_purifier.html

    From what I have been told, most of the time it is the padding that will hold smell more than the fabric itself- with a few exceptions like leather. I have a pair down stuffed chairs in my smoking room and never have a problem with odor. You could allways invest in a bottle of fabreze.

    Hey All;

    I bought a new Ionizer tonight. I am going to give it a run for its money tomorrow night.

    After some consideration, and consultation with my significant other, (Hmmmm, Typing that makes me feel like less of a man,) I have decided to go with a classic, Black, Leather stufffed Chair. I will update you guys on how it works out. Take it easy all! Thanks for the Great Advice!
