Thread: Aging Partagas

    Default Aging Partagas

Just got my box of Partages yesterday (serie d no.4). I dont know much about this particular brand, or how well it ages. The box was dated may 05. I'm curious as to how long I should let em' sit before they BEGIN to live up to their potential. Smoked one this morning, and although it was nice, was definately too young. I'm thinking around 3 months, but as I said, I dont know much about this brand.

    Thanks,

    Yeager.

well let me put it this way paragas just as any brand is great with age. I have smoked many lower costing partagas cigars with at least 1.5 to 2 years of age. and series D no. 4 being a robusto it would abviously go great with age.

    worth the wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since partagas have such a full taste to them I would recommend aging them 2+ years.
Smoke one now too see how it is. Than smoke one in 6 mos and so on.. I have smoked them fresh and I have smoked them with 4+ yrs on them and the difference is very very noticable.. Almost like smoking a different cigar.

I agree, two years minimum is proper.

I agree with the age em a couple of years statement however many for what ever reason have said the Serie D No.4 are better young. That hasn't been my limited experience (I've only been through 3 boxes). The last box I have is getting close to 7 years old and the smokes from that particular box remain fairly strong (last I sampled was about 6-8 months ago).

The only connection I can make is that he read my profile and saw that I liked drums...why he would post that here rather than a PM is beyond me.

Serie D 4's generally take a good 4-5 years to reach their potential.
