    Question excessive spitting problem

Everytime i smoke a nice cigar (i preferr the medium-full to full cigars) i've noticed that i spit a lot. Has anyone else had trouble w/ this, and possibly found a soln? Any suggestions would be nice. I don't smoke terribly often, just when i can get a friend to smoke w/ me. Anyways, if you know of anything, it would be greatly appretiated. Thanks.

Yes, but only when I am smoking a very strong cigar and I'm hotboxing (i.e., rushing) it. So if I slow down and savor it, no more problem.
There's only two kinds of cigars, the kind you like and the kind you don't.

When I first started smoking cigars, I spit alot, I figured all the excess saliva was a bad thing. Basically I figured out that I was just spitting out flavor, like how a hard candy makes you salivate more.

Do you have any sort of drink when you smoke? When I don't have a drink with me I tend to spit.

    I agree!

The first thing I do when I smoke is get something to drink. Anything! They say coffee and water are best, though I never drink with either. I usually grab a coke or power ade while driving, coke and bourbon finish the deed

Cool, thanks, i'll try having some kind of drink before-hand or during, any suggestions on something that won't foul-up my palate, so i can still fully taste the cigar? I've tried drinking water, and it seems to not help too much, i'll try powerade or something similar, or maby that lightly flavored water stuff (coffee sounds like a good idea too). Thanks everyone

Ginger Ale is also decent with cigars.

I find that the cigar itself doesn't lose much no matter what you drink and it damn near makes everything you drink taste a heck of a lot better. I have avoid citrus drinks like orange juice and grapefruit juice though. I have heard they don't go well. I actually think I may have heard that here.

Well, if people did quick searches they might not need to post at all, or they could revive old posts. Plus there is some good info and opinions that might get forgotten about if it wasn't for me

If you leave your cigars in the humidor longer they will mellow out and not be so bad. Maybe try smoking something not so powerful untill you get used to the smoke.
