Default do we need a frappr?

i was just on one of the other boards i'm a member of and they just started a frappr from www.Frappr.com. i just thought it would be neat to get us all on the map to see who is near who and whatnot. anyways i would start it but my computer is having issues and won't veiw certain sites. anyone want to start one up. the only other group they have on that site for cigars is herfersparidise, they have about 300 members signed up.

You know.. I was actually in the middle of writing / spec’ing out a similar service for google maps. I had not seen frappr before, but it's a great idea. I'm going to take a more Social networking approach to it though.

I ended up registering di-tu . com (di tu is Mandarin Chinese for map).

    I love GIS systems.

    Really cool stuff.

No.. its good, I'm glad I saw this before I started development. I like this service, but I think I can write a better interface.

I kind of wanted to go with more of a "user maps" type deal where you can create an account and create maps on an individual basis.

That sounds pretty cool. I am all about taking things and making them better. Your interface that you have thought up sounds like it could have some potential. Good luck.

so hex, would this new map be able to pin point your exact location instead of just the city? i want to be able to do that but the frappr won't let us do it.
