Carroll College's Fighting Saints won their 4th straight NAIA National Championship today, 27-10 over St. Francis. For those of you who don't follow NAIA football (and I'm sure most of you don't), this was only the 3rd loss for St. Francis in the last 44 games...all to Carroll.
Personally, I would rather watch NAIA or 1-AA football simply because of the playoff format. (It doesn't hurt that Montana has one of the top 1-AA football programs with the UofM Grizzlies and THE top program in NAIA with the Saints). This year's big game between Texas and USC should be good, and there will be a clear cut national champ, but every year I hope that about 4 or 5 teams in 1A run the table and hopefully force the NCAA to get their ducks in a row and get a playoff format.
But until then, I'll root for the small schools and leave the BCS crap to the rest.
Go Saints!
