    Default Christmas Dinner

    Hey all-
I decided to eschew the usual turkey dinner for Christmas this year and am going with a prime rib instead.
Just wondering what everyone else will be putting on the table for the big holiday dinner. (and if anyone has any prime rib cooking hints, I'll take 'em!)

Well, shit...I suppose this should be in the general discussion...oops.

My ex-wife doesn't celebrate Christmas so nothing special for me on Sunday.

I'm Italian and German, so my parent's always put out a 7lb dish of baked pasta(pasta prepared in the usual way then baked sauce and all in the oven for 20 minutes), and mashed potatoes and gravy. the sides are pretty random.

Funny, just yesterday I was flipping through this month's Cigar Aficianado and they suggest prime rib for Christmas dinner...

My family tends to do a beef roast or occasionally a ham....

Christmas will be a VERY big SMOKING day for me. I get up, smoke an untold story up to my mom's house. Hang out there for a couple of hours. Get some of my grandfathers FAMOUS bread that he only makes on christmas, then I get in the car, smoke something else (Double Corona sized) get home. Clean up, and drive over to the girlfriends house, which will be harder to get her over to the aunts house this year because of the wheelchair and all, eat over there, do gifts, bring her home and finally go home... I'm not a big fan of this day lol

But since you asked I'll be eating Ham, sweet potato casserole, and pumpernickel bread

I will be enjoying a plate full of indigestion with my wife's family on Christmas Eve. That's after spending the evening of the 22nd with her asshat father and wife number 3, or 4, and other assorted half sibling asshats. Christmas Day will be spent liquored up trying to forget the horrors of the last few days.
