  1. Question Inhaling Smoke

    Hi,

Not sure if this is the correct forum, but I got a quick question.

I'm reading everywhere that if you inhale while smoking a cigar, you will get very sick.

I was wondering what type of illness does it cause?

I tried a cigar a friend offered and a week after that I started to have anxiety and panic attack-like symptoms, which I never had in my life. I'm not sure if it was caused by the cigar or something else, but I am suspicious because of the time frame.

Is this the illness? Or is it something else?

    Thanks.

it is the illness of which i previously mentioned...and it could also be something else.....i'm curious about what kind of cigar you had...tell us about it......

i'm also sure that other helpful guys will chime in with their tales of the "illness"....

if only there was a cream or balm of some sort that could help....

    You'll cough, choke, possible vomit...

It's not an illness, it's more like drinking Drain-o...

You're correct. I had a friend who became very sick (rather quickly) from inhaling cigars and ended up dying from lung cancer soon after.

That wasn't an anxiety/panic attack you were experiencing unfortunately. By inhaling the smoke, it appears your lungs were unable to handle it which triggers the symptoms you were feeling. Your lungs have suffered damage, and as a result, your body has gone into a sort of panic mode which is expected in order to get you stop smoking.

If you keep inhaling you will become violently ill and could be endanger of getting cancer.

Just a friendly warning, I'd be careful if I were you.

I always exhale through my mouth and nose and when I breath, I do inhale some smoke,I like it.

Just think of like you're smoking 8 unfiltered Camels simultaneously...sound like a good idea?
Have you ever thought about maybe turning off the TV, sitting down with your kids...and hitting them?

Where exactly is "everywhere" that you are reading that you will "get very sick," newspapers, tabloids, bathroom walls, or what?

I know people who inhale cigar smoke on a regular basis and enjoy it very much. On the other end of the spectrum, I've know people who have puked after only taking a couple of puffs of a cigar without inhaling at all.

Are you sure the cigar you got from your "friend" wasn't made out of pot?

Sounds to me like a real nicotine rush. It has been too many years since my first cigarette but that is about how I remember the effects of it. While I don't inhale cigars I can imagine the effect of all that raw nicotine in the blood stream would be quite an experience. Until I got used to smoking cigars some of the fuller flavored brands would have a similar effect.

Proper cigar smoking technique is as follows. Take the smoke into your mouth exhale through your nose. Inhaling cigar smoke like a cigarette is not good for you. It also does nothing for you in the taste department.

    OMG! I smoke wrong!

The exhaling through your nose thing is a matter of personal taste. Even a small amount of smoke in my nose bugs the everliving piss out of me!
