I'm pretty sure this is the right forum, as it's about the generality of buying online as opposed to where to buy, so go easy on me if it isn't. Not that I really think it will be a problem as I've been lurking for a while, and you all seem like a group of cool cats. But, a quick intro before I get to my question. I'm new here. I've recently gotten into cigar smoking with my roommate. What can I say? It's always a good time if it's over a cigar.

Now, my question. I'm curious about the whole issue of taxes and shopping online. Are the taxes all included in the price? Do I have to pay state and local taxes seperatly? Do I have to pay them at all, or are they waived? I know people are buying cigars left and right online, but I just want to make sure everything is on the up and up. I'm a bit paranoid when it comes to legal issues.

I live in Louisiana, where it seems we are all to aware of excise taxes on tobacco products. I remember reading an article or something a while back about people getting notices about paying taxes on cigarettes ordered online from certain vendors. Is this just on cigarettes?

Thanks in advance, because I'm a pretty thankful guy.
