Ok, I may be the only one who took it this way, but this is what I got from it. Neuro, I think your intentions are good, but what I got from your apology is "Some of you are still assholes, and I'm sorry that you're assholes." It's just hard for me to see that as being sincere, especially when it's been cut and pasted verbatim at other boards.
