Question Question on Cigar Jar / Credo

Quick couple of questions for anyone...

You are looking at a what was my first humi - marble cigar jar. Got it...10 years ago(?). Anyhow, questions are:

    1. What do I do with it? Seal is good but I think the cedar partition inside is aromatic cedar - not spanish. Yup, I can take the cedar out when it dries...

    2. Credo - it leaks black fluid which you can see on the wood. What is the black stuff? (Yup, distilled water in, nope - no black food coloring added).

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

    1. Aromatic cedar is bad for cigars. If that's what's in there don't use this for cigar storage.
    2. Have you always used distilled water in the credo? If not you could have some nasties growing in there. It' probably not a bad idea to replace your credos once in a while anyway. In any case, I would not use that credo anywhere near my stash.

Is this the only "humidor" you have? If so I could offer some options for storage that won't break the bank. If you're serious about smoking and having cigars, you really should get a better storage system worked out anyway.

Hey Paul...... if that thing is leaking some kinda Black fluid I would get rid of the credo (if you can)..... If the credo doesnot come out I would not put water in it anymore.
I'm not big on doing reviews, tobacco doesn't taste like "cocoa" or "nutty" or "mocha" to me, it tastes like freakin' TOBACCO. I know what I like and I really don't care what other people think of other cigars. I've never read a review and said to myself "Wow, that sounds like a cigar I'd like to try!"

Yup, always distilled, nope one of three humis that I have (and I haven't used this one in... 5 years (recently started seasoning it for overflow sticks - which is where the leakage came in). Found that a tupperdor will probably work better for my overflow...

Yeah, good idea to junk the credo (doesn't seem like it's normal).

Which leaves me with a marble jar... will be a pretty nice cookie jar...

Thanks for your (plural) help. Next up, ideas for the jar? eBay?

I don't know about eBay...if this is your first humi and it's been around for awhile, I'd probably keep it just for sentimental value. Use it to hold your pens or staples or whatever on your desk...of course my wife accuses me all the time of not being able to throw anything away.
