Hello Ace and welcome to the forum!! Please tell us more about yourself, like how long you've been smoking, what you like to smoke, where you're from, etc.

The "search" tool is your friend, Grasshopper.

    Check this out:

Not knowing where you live, I'd guess your hygrometer is out of whack, but that's just a guess.

    Good luck

Well I've started smoking cigars for about 4 months now and I got addicted. I love to have a cigar out in the balcony or basically anywhere where I can light up and just relax......Fishing, camping or just enjoying life etc....
I live in Diamond Bar, California.

Nice being here in the forum.

    70-75% is too high........look for 62-65%.....

......let the search function be your friend...

Do the salt test. That should calibrate your gauge.

Also consider getting some beads, www.heartfeltindustries.com

    get the 65% beads,

What's good about the beads is that they release below 65% and absorb above 65%.

To everyone's point on the beads - GET THEM. And here's why...

I have a Credo, a Humigar (both floral sponge humidfication units). I also have a drymistat (crystal tube). I have two digital hygros. Thought I could manage my humidor & coolidor with the aforementioned. I can get it to come pretty close, but it fluctuates and I worry between having the wrong humidity level AS WELL AS having a bad read on my hygrometers (even after the salt test). This takes all the guesswork out of it - and as NH mentioned - keeps them at a 65% equilibrium.

If you have a 200 humi - get a 1/2 lb of the beads, one or two empty 1oz or 2oz containers for your desktop - and you'll be set for a while. Best $20 you'll ever spend.

    welcome to CS.
Look at that... I plumb got myself 5 raisins and 7 termites.
