    Question fuel type taste?

    Relative newbie but...

I lit a vegas gold churchill while in VA at a hotel outside near the swimming pool. The first inch or so was normal tasting but then I started to get a tingle and rubbing alcohol or fuel type of taste and burn on my lips? Also the draw was significantly harder.
I was having some Jack Daniels over ice with it and it happened about the time I had a sip of that. Maybe that was the problem or maybe some of the 50/50 mix came got on the cigar from the herfador I transported it in. Or maybe from the dry mistat tube in the humidor at home. Or maybe from sitting it across the edge of the glass table by the pool. I ditched the Jack but the taste was still coming from the cigar.
Any ideas on what is the most likely cause so that I can avoid it in the futre?
It is interesting that it was fine when I lit it and enjoyed it for the first 10-15 minutes, so I tend to think the 50/50 or the dry mistat did not cause it...
    Thanks

Hi and welcome....maybe make a thread and say hi...introduce yourself and all...well,if you intend to hang out more.

You most likely got a taste of a stick fermenting...or in "sick period"...smells like ammonia comeing off the lit end or taste(if really bad) but I have never experianced this with vegas gars',although I only smoke the series a maduros.

What did you use to light it? Could be a lighter fluid taste...
