    Default Mild Cigar Question.

A good friend of mine is seeing how much I enjoy my cigars and he's been dabbling into my stash. I kinda prefer med and up, and he likes mild so my stock of mild smokes is kinda depleted. I've been doing some research and trying to come up with the mildest smokes available.

I have him a Helix the other day that I thought was one of the mildest there was, but he found it a bit strong.

Any suggestions on what I could put in stock for him? If someone has some mild ones they'd like to get rid of so he could try 'em, let me know the damage and I'll shoot you off a M/O.

    Thanks.

    PS:
Hmmmmmmmmmm, I wonder how long it'll take before Sid pipes up and tells me to buy some Macanudos for him??

BWAAAAA HAAAAA HAAAAAAAAWWWWW, I crack me up!

I like med to heavy smokes myself, so I found Baccarat and PLayboy to be too mild for me

Thanks Sid. I knew you wouldn't disappoint me with a couple of comments.

    Thanks for the suggestions too.

How about a 5 vegas gold? I enjoyed them, but they were getting a little mild for my tastes.

REO's and Vibe's are pretty mild.

Say what!!! I think the Reo's and Vibe's are on the strong side of medium, or even on the medium side of strong. They are not harsh smokes, but they are damned tasty!!!

    Different strokes...

I may like a fuller cigar so that may be why. I just remember the reo being quite...unexciting but very smooth. The wrapper literaly tasted like...PAPER but I enjoyed it. Have not had the Vibe but heard they were milder than the Reo's

the reo's and vibes are most certainly NOT.......mild.....they're sold as a medium to full smoke....not an ass-kicker like an antano.....but certainly not a beginners' cigar...

and that's from the owner of the brand...

Try the Fonseca Natural. "86" or so rating by C.A. for what its worth. I smoke one and I dont smoke much and found it to be mild, smooth with light flavors and refreshing.

Oh, I guarantee you will - we all do it...

Everyone's tastes are different - and on different days, depending on what you've eaten/drank/smoked/etc. it can change. There are cigars I keep around 'cause I just love 'em and a special occasion rolls around and I'm disappointed because they just don't taste right...

The Reo's are a damn fine smoke, though - the Vibe's had some problems with their early releases which apparently have been corrected.

Fonseca's certainly are a mild smoke, no doubt.

On the cheap side, there are the Helix - very mild. Nicer cigars are the Fuente Don Carlos line - but they are pricey. I think most of the natural Hemingway series are pretty mild as well.

The ultimate mild smoke at the moment is the Davidoff Diademas (100th Anniversary). They're the most complex mildest Davidoff I've ever had. But they range from about $18-$24 each, if you can find them... Also, the Partagas 150's are very mild, and very complex - and very expensive...

Ooops... I guess I should re-read the first post...

If the guy thinks Helix is strong, there is no hope... BTW - did you give him the Helix Blue Label, or the Purple Label... The Purple's can be much stronger than the Blue...

Very true. Don't flame me for this but the first opus X I had about 4 years ago I snubbed after about 10 puffs. Thought it was rediculously strong peppery etc..and had NO idea why people thought it was sooooo Great. Now I feel is is a very full bodies cigar with tons of flavor and can appreciate it.

I still do enjoy milds every now and then though. I can't descriminate. Unless it looks like...

I am having my rehearsal dinner for my wedding at Ivanronne's. I am also happy to say Malio's is opening up again! Small world!

Fonsecas are very good mild smokes
The Griffins is also a very good mild smoke (expensive, though)

RP Connecticut is a very tasty mild smoke, but may border on medium
Rolys (Puros Indios 2nds) are mild-med and dirt cheap

Hemmingways might be pushing the envelope a little, but might be worth a try.

And listen to what BPP says. He knows is stuff.

Mild cigar... decent price.... Alec Bradley Havana SunGrown.... IMO
I'm not big on doing reviews, tobacco doesn't taste like "cocoa" or "nutty" or "mocha" to me, it tastes like freakin' TOBACCO. I know what I like and I really don't care what other people think of other cigars. I've never read a review and said to myself "Wow, that sounds like a cigar I'd like to try!"

I've given him both of these. He said the RP Connie was too strong. I keep a few of the Rolys around and he almost choked on the one I gave him.

I told him I give up trying to find something for him. He works in Detroit so I told him to go to a B&M over there and ask for the mildest they have and he can keep 'em in my Humidor. I mean, I like the Connie Rubusto as an early mild smoke (very flavourful and I think I'll have one right now!!) but it's probably the mildest I've had. Jeez, he even foung the Helix strong and apparently, that's one of the mildest made (or so I've been told).

By the way I tried the Thompson brand that they stuckin that sampler. They say its medium but it seemed like mild to me. Let me know your opinion if you decide tosmoke em
