    Default Cigars and Appetite

I have heard that peole who stop smoking especially cigarrettes tend to gain wait, and that possibly tabacco works as an appetite supressant.

For me it seems to be all upside down. About 20 minutes after I have a cigar I tend to crave food, especially if it's a stronger cigar.

Does anyone have a similar reaction ?

Cigars are a digestíf, that's why they are best after a big meal, or, when you know you've got a wings eating competition, they get your digestive juices flowing, so if nothing is in your stomach, you'll feel hungry fast.

Some cigars you have to smoke after a big meal because they are very powerful.

According to what I've read. Small amounts of Nicotene, which is what you get smoking a cigar without inhaling, act as a mild sedative. Relaxation can promote your appetite. At higher levels, like you get from inhaling cigarettes, it acts as a stimulant. It would suppress your appetite in this case.

I know it sounds weird, but they say small doses of stimulants or amphetamines can actually focus your mind and calm you down. At first, I thought it was crap, but then I started thinking. they treat hyperactivity with a low dose amphetamine. People drink a big cup of coffee to wake up, but drink a small cup of tea to relax. In the studies in that article I read, people who smoke a cigarrette first show depressed vitals, then show stimulated vitals towards the middle of their smoke. I'm not sure how this works, but it does. Strange, huh?

Disclaimer: I read this on the internet on a site whose authenticity I didn't check. Hell, I can't even remember the site. This could be complete bullshit. If you know otherwise, please let me know.

Makes sense because I feel like I have better conversations when I am smoking, whether it be from being more focused or more relaxed or a combination.

A large part weight gain when quitting smoking ciagettes is mental.

Cigarette smokers are used to putting something in their mouths every hour. When you quit, this oral fixation is still there. It's only natural to shove food in there.
