    Default Perelman Cigar guide

I am interested in buying the Perelman encyclopedia but want a little input before I do.

I could not find it in the B&N the actual store but its oline through tem and Amazon so I could not really take a look at the thing itself.

Does it simply list cigars or gives some info on each. If someone has it perhaps they can share what info the book provides.

If of interest I am thinking of getting the latest edition of the regular and the Havana encyclopedias.

    Thanks

I grabbed a quick reference pocket guide to havana's off c-bid for 3 bucks, It was pretty cool. Certainly worth the 3 bucks.

I had one from 2004 (I think) and actually tossed it at some point. It offers some information about manufacturers, brands, and the blends that go into the cigars but I very rarely used it. I'd say if you can get it cheap or want to know that detail get one and keep it near the computer or while smoking so you can leaf through it. Might help if you're starting a cigar diary or keeping a log for reveiws.

I was just reading through Perelman's the other night.

It's a great source of empirical knowledge. If you want to know release dates, colors, countries of origin, and sizes available, it's your book. If you want reviews, look elsewhere.

The Almanac section is an interesting read...
