    Default My New Humidor

It was custom made by a guy who works in the Distribution office here at work. Approximate outside dimensions are 15-1/2" wide X 11-1/2 deep X 7" high. It's mainly made of Birdseye Maple, ~ 3/4" thick and it completely lined by 3/8" & 1/2" Spanish Cedar. The dividers in the bottom are moveable. The dark strip across the top is walnut, he told me what the lighter wood on top is but I don't remember. The smell of the cedar when I opened it was heavenly. I have only one minor complaint, that the tray is a little shallow. But it will suffice.

As a note, the maple came from a barn in Northern Ontario that was torn down ~ 30 years ago, and was about 170 yerars old when it was dismantled. The pictures do not give it justice, trust me.

By the way, it cost me $200.

Reminded me of the Neil Young classic- Helpless, when I read that part of your post. The first lyrics in the song read: "There is a town in North Ontario".

    Very nice humi, Jim.

Nice, real nice. The history about the barn is pretty cool.

Awsome humi, custom built and novelty wood really make it fantastic!

Default Pics with it full & a question answered

Someone asked what the seal was like. While I haven't done the "flashlight test" yet, the seal is good. If you hold the lid at a 45 deg angle and let it drop, you hear a rush of air as it is almost closed, and then the lid settles slowly the last 1/8" or 1/4". When opening it, you feel just a little suction.

OK, a couple of guys asked me to post pics after I had it full, here ya go.:
