Stupid question, I am sure... ...but could someone tell me why some Habanos say made in Havana and others say, made in Habana? What is the difference between Havana and Habana?

Well, "Havana" is the English (worldwide language) spelling of the Spanish (language spoken in Cuba) "Habana". While the island produces a superior product, quality control of various factors, consistency being one of several, isn't what it is as a result of administrative accreditations, etc., employed in other areas of the world. This makes me think that isom companies may use the two spellings interchangeably.
However, upon just now checking 6 different brands, the word is spelled with a "b" in every case. Based on this, you may have an authenticity issue with any purported to be genuine isom's, but that are spelled with a "v".
So, this is only a partial answer; I'm sure someone will log in and clarify. It's a good question - now I'm curious too.
Equality is not seeing different things equally. It's seeing different things differently.

Thanks, Basil.
Of the 7 different boxes I have, all gars read as Habana with the exception of two types of Tubos- HDM Coronations and H. Upmann Coronas Major. Both of these read: Habana, but also have additional text reading: Made in Havana. I just found this to be odd?

I just checked my 8 boxes. My HdM Coronations and H Upmann Coronas Major have the same thing as yours does. I know I'm not worried about the source. One box doesnt even say Habana or Havana other than the Habanos sticker. Also my BBF box says both and its the unvarnished cab box. I've noticed the inconsistancy of pattern, but just gave it any mind to it. Good question tho.Originally Posted by slcraiders
