  1. Question Bad Reaction?

Ok I had some guys over at my place and we decided to enjoy some cigars. I have recently purchased this - and so we smoked the cigars it came with.

But one of my friends started to get extremely dizzy and sweating like crazy, like you just touch his arm and your hand was wet…. He felt like complete crap….

    Why?

Nicotine head rush, probably. If anything it was more a feeling of vertigo (like the world was spinning) as opposed to being dizzy. Happens to me ocassionally if I smoke a stronger cigar on an empty stomach.

So as beginners, should we start with a "weaker" cigar?

Welcome to CS. Why not introduce yourself and let us know who you are a little bit, what you enjoy, what brings you here, etc. We like questions, we just want to know who we're answering them for. We're a brotherhood of sorts - not the yellow pages.

    As for your questions:

On the dizzy bit - I've had the same thing happen to me - interesting things happen when you mix strong cigars, alcohol, and a hot tub. But yeah, you get a little queezy. Like MC said, he probably just got a bit too much nicotine in his system. Nothing to worry about. Just make sure you eat beforehand or it might happen again.

On your humi - cubancrafters are fine; they have a good reputation - most of the guys here will tell you your box is going to be too small for you in no time. Just make sure you season your humidor properly before putting your cigars in them - otherwise, your sticks will dry up really quickly. Here's a guide if you don't know how:

On your sticks - I'll be honest, I've never had 'em. Mebbe one or more of the other guys can shed some light on 'em. Depending on your price range, you should try Arturo Fuente cigars - they run medium-full body and you can get samplers around the web for about $3-4/stick on up. Other mild sticks - 5 Vegas Gold ($3-4) up to Montecristo White ($7-10).

As a beginner, my advice is to start trying a bunch of different sticks - mild, medium, full - some will kick your ass, some you'll find light. Most likely, the more you smoke, the fuller you'll like your sticks.

Hope this helps - now post an intro!
Look at that... I plumb got myself 5 raisins and 7 termites.

The sticks arent bad at all, especially the green label. It's a smoke I dont feel bad about walking around with, or not giving my full attention, but it's also one I can sit down and get into. Considering that the ones you got with your humidor (the same one I got, as it was a really good deal), are a $1 cigar, they really arent half bad.

Thank you guys Very much for your input- I’m taking it all into consideration-

    A little about me-

My name is Tyler; I live in O’Fallon MO- I just started smoking (well other then crappy gas station cigars).

I really enjoy getting together with some friends taken a cruse up a river road, then parking on the side of the river and enjoy a cigar and conversation-

I’m glad to become part of the Cigar smoking community and look forward to meeting and exchanging thoughts/cigars/tips with everyone-

I started out with this deal. I still use the humi during travel. The cigars are mild and palatable, if not the best. The price is right for sure.

Tell your friend not to inhale next time. That will do it. Cigars are meant to be puffed.

To add a few more questions....

    1. Did I buy a good hummi
    2. Are the cigars I got in the sampler any good?
