Default The Cheer Up BPP Thread

So in a lame attempt to get some new posts going for BPP, here we go:
Where I live, we have out door movies at NIH and on the Mall down by the Washington Monument. Does anyone else live in a place that does that too? I think the showed Batman begins, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Walk the Line, The Princes Bride and Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I didn't get a chance to see any but I'd wish I had. Batman Begins was pretty good in the theaters, I'm not saying I'd pay what movies cost to see it again, but I'm happy I did see it once. I tried to watch Walk The Line before and could not get into it. The same with Ray. They both looked like great movies, but that genre is not my type.

By outdoor movies do you mean like a drive in? We've got a drive in thats pretty close to us and I'd pay the same movie prices to go to it. Its more about the experience IMHO.

If you or anyone else isn't sure if you have a drive in close to to you, check out this link

We have a drive-in in a town about an hour north that has been there forever. Over the years, it became the "last one standing" and has become so popular (that and its huge restaurant-style snackbar,) that the owners opened a brand new one in the town where I live. Both places are pretty retro - about the only difference from the old days is FM sound instead of post speakers on wires.

Oh, and they're about $3 cheaper to see opening weekend movies.

We have a drive in....in the middle of the ghetto. It is nice. I would park my ambulance in there while on shift to watch movies for free. I just have a VERY hard time dealing with the lack of dolby digital and THX certifications.

There is supposedly a drive-in in Maryland somewhere, I think by Baltimore, but I don't know more then that. I like the idea of outdoor movies. It’s a shame I wasn't able to go to these outdoor films, a couple of them I'd really like to see. If I can my own thread, I think my big thing about these outdoor movies is that on a nice night, I'd rather watch TV or a movie outside then indoors. Several times in college we contemplated turning the TV around and facing it out if a window so we could sit in the yard and watch it outside. A great idea during the football and grilling seasons. If any of you college guys do this, let me know how it works out, I think a flat screen would be better b/c of glare.
