Here is my new humi that I got for Christmas finally seasoned. Gotta love a brother and his wife who picked this out for me. No new pics of the coolidor...pretty boring.

This is a great thread going.

Here's a pic of one of my humidors. I won this several years ago at the JR in Whippany, NJ, it was the grand prize and donated by Lew/JR. It is a one of a kind prototype and was too expensive to mass produce. At least that's what Lew said.

It's about 3 feet wide and 4 feet tall. There are four sections. all come right apart. The first is the top. Not humidified at all but a good secret stash area for things like cigar shipment receipts, illegal contraband, etc.

The second section is the windowed cedar tray humidor. The three shelves slide out and can hold around 100 toros each or so.

The third section is the box humidor. It holds about 18-20 boxes/bundles if you are good at Tetris.

The final section is just the stand. This is all painted board. No veneer or real tiger maple. Pretty well made. I currently have one of the JR bookshelf humidors (you'd buy some library editions of Bolivar, ERDM, etc and get it for $50) on top of it. It's similar in width and adds another section, although the quality and tightness is not even close.

    Default coolerdor

Okay, so I'm a total noob, but here is the coolerdor I just put together, so I could start collecting until my dad and I can get together and build a real humi in the summer. I built this for about 10 bucks, stole the cooler from the wife's grandfather, bought a walmart hygro and a humidifying stone, and got some cigar boxes for free. I think I did a decent job considering I had a Gerber, a cheap jigsaw, and some wood glue. (The 'top shelf' is waiting for the 8 premium cigar sampler from cbid. I see what you guys mean when you call it the devil site, I sure could get into trouble quick there.)

    sorry for the hugeness

That's some very creative work on the coolidor. Is it airtight though? My experience with that type of cooler is that they don't really have an airtight seal.

It's not perfectly airtight, but that Arturo Fuente lid fits very snugly in there, so it's close between that and the cooler lid. I've read also that you don't want 100% airtight, as that can cause mold to grow. Now I just need to stock it with some better cigars.

Looks nice and a fine collection. However, a word of free advice . . . do not store that Java with the rest of your sticks. Although not as pungent as other flavored cigars it will still alter the flavor of the rest of your cigars.

Excuse the messy desk. I'm a noob and here's my first humidor. This was when I first got it so that's why it's empty.

My digital hygrometer is on it's way.
