    Default Mexico

I got some family going to Mexico the first week in October and I was going to have them pick me up a box of stogies. What do you think would be a good box to pick up in Mexico? I was going to see if he could find a cheaper box of Cohiba's or something along the more premium side. Save me a buck or two on taxes etc. Open to suggestions!

I think there are LCDH in Mexico, but even then, you can order online for those prices and (I think) have a way better chance of getting authentic specimens. I was in Tijuana a few years ago and yeah...glasstop central.

no there are official La Casa del Habanos stores in Mexico. Check the link: http://www.lacasadelhabano.cu/mundo_i.asp Tijuana....I want to visit California. When I do, I plan on making a pit stop there in Tijuana. To answer your question, I'd like any box. But I wouldn't be looking for the best deal. Like what was said before, be weary of fakes. I would only shop in the Casa del Habanos and I'd like to pick up a box of H. Upmann Mag 46s or some Partagas 858 Varnished.

Don't let them buy anything that dosen't come from a La Casa del Habanos. They have a store on Revolution Blvd in TJ that sells sell absolutely authentic gars.

But, like Drew said, for the hassel of smugggling them back into the US and the prices they charge it doesn't make the effort worth it compared to online stores.

And whatever you do, don't buy any Mexican cigars. I've never wasted my money on Te-Amos but everyone who has I've talked to has said they are like smoking grass clippings.

They're flying into Cancun then driving to wherever they are going so, I'll have them stop at the La Casa del Habanos there in Cancun.

I live in south TX and have been all over Mexico. Take poppa's word to the bank. This goes for all over the Carribean too-especially Cohibas.
