In 1997 the brand of Vegas Robaina was launched to honour the legendary work of the Robaina family
headed by the 87 year old Don Alejadro Robaina who I have had the pleasure of meeting on a number of occasions whilst visiting Havana.
(in fact he even signed a cigar for me whilst I was enjoying coffee with him at his home!)

Originally the brand was made at the Upmann factory in Havana but from 2003 production was transferred to Pinar Del Rio
so it could be closer to it's roots and made at the Francisco Donatien factory ( where Trinidad is now made).

The cigars are medium to full flavour and all its tobaccos are from the Vuelto Abajo region
so the brand with the nearest equivalent style of blend is Montecristo.



Characteristically earthy with leathery and salty overtones and a hint of cedar.
